Today I am grateful for the passing of Proposition 8 here in California. I am grateful for the countless hours that people all across the state and really the country put in for our behalf. I am grateful that although at time our society seems to have given up on having morals and values, at the end of the day I feel that people really do want what is right. That reflected on voting day. Many prayers were said that the hearts of the voters would be touched and that they would feel the spirit while in the privacy of the voting booth. I know that our battle against families is not over and that is evident by the demonstrations at the temple and having to close some of the temples but in the end I know the Lord is pleased with our efforts. I am grateful that we were able to be a part of this effort.

Happy Birthday Dad
Well my sister beat me to the punch, but I wanted to start my gratitude blogs today. I would like to jump on the blog wagon and dedicate everyday in November to something I am grateful for. I have really enjoyed reading peoples comments on what they are grateful for and they have inspired me to start. So starting today at 10:00 at night is easy because it is my dad's birthday today and so I would like to start my first day of gratitude with my dad. I don't even know where to begin except that he has taught me so much throughout my life. My biggest lesson learned from my dad is to have a passion for the gospel. I remember waking up every morning for seminary and coming out to the living room and either seeing my dad kneeling in prayer or reading the scriptures. In high school I used to go to every fireside or talk that he gave. I still like to go to whatever he is teaching. He is an unbelievable speaker with an enthusiasm like none other. He has been a great dad and especially a great grandpa to his grandchildren. They love spending time with him, whether it is lunch at Jack in the Box or going to spring training with him. We always have fun with grandpa. Thank you for all you do for us dad. We love you!!!
(Sorry for so many pictures but I couldn't pick just a couple.)

YES ON 8!!!!!

Last night Robert took the kids to wave signs in one last ditch effort to help people make up their minds regarding prop 8. I had a volleyball game so Robert ventured out with all four hoping that if kids were with him that maybe they wouldn't get eggs thrown at them or worse. It must have worked. They were yelled at a few times but nothing too horrible. My kids were so excited to do this and it made them feel very proud to stand up for what we believe in. I think they are learning at a young age how important it is to stand up for our beliefs. I was very proud of them. I hope everyone gets out today to vote. I am so grateful for the freedoms that we enjoy and I am glad that my children got to demonstrate those freedoms last night.

HALLOWEEN 08
I can't believe October is over. This year is going by too fast. We had a really fun Halloween. The kids went trick or treating three times. They did the trunk or treat at my parents ward, then we went to the outlet mall, and of course around our neighborhood. So here are pics from our Halloween week. Sorry there are so many. Bekah and her best bud Taelor
Our gang at the mall
After trick or treating Bekah went to her friends and they braided her hair, she LOVES it.
Ok people look how ridiculous this load is. To my fellow weight watcher friends anyone have a guess on how many points this is? The really bad part is that most of their candy is good candy tons of chocolate bars and even a few full size bars. Maybe we'll have to take some to Grandpa. He use to always raid our loot every year.
Is this a dentists worse nightmare or what?

Bekah's Curls
Bekah always begs me to curl her hair but because her hair is so thick, it takes a while to put the curlers in so we don't do it very often. We went to my niece's baptism in LA this weekend so we decided to do the curlers. She was blessed with great hair. Robert and I are always baffled about where her hair came from but we love it. I thought her hair looked so cute so I thought I would post a couple of pictures.
We went to LA this weekend for Rachel's baptism. It was such a great day for her. My brother did a great job. We had a great day with family and it is always fun for the cousins to play together. It was fun for Bekah to see it because she will be baptized in a couple of months so that was exciting for her. After we went back to their place for a great lunch. Thanks Aimee for a fun day. Thanks for all your hard work it was great. Bekah and Rachel
After the baptism Luke and I drove to Arizona to see my little brother and his family. On Sunday my dad ordained to a high priest because he was being called to be high priest group leader. He is only 29 so I know he is overwhelmed and nervous. I know he will be great. He is so easy going and easy to be around everyone will love him. It was really fun to see his family. Thanks for being great hosts.

Luke and Ryland, 6 weeks apart, sooo cute
On the drive home Luke was chewing on his toes. He does this a lot. He is so flexible, I think he gets it from me.....NOT:)
This is Luke after enjoying some of Grandpa's banana cream pie milkshake. He loved it. He was so funny in the car. Luke is extremely LOUD, I don't know if it is because of his hearing loss or what but he jabbers at decibels higher than any other baby. It was pretty funny. My parents really got a kick out of him. We had a nice weekend with my parents. Thanks mom and dad for letting us tag a long and thanks Robert for hanging out with the kids so I could go.

Pumpkin "Patch"
Tonight the boys and I(Bekah was sick so she stayed home with Rob) met Dave and Jamie and Mackenzie at the pumpkin "patch". Halloween is a little different in Southern California for a few different reasons. The pumpkin patch is actually pumpkins in rows on some straw under a tent about 1 mile from a major interstate freeway. The pumpkins are way overpriced, we actually got ours at Walmart. And if you notice that Tanner has on a fleece jacket, well it dipped down to about 65 degrees. But it was fun anyway and the kids don't know any better. In Indiana we would go to an actual pumpkin farm and apple orchard and we would pick our own pumpkins and go on hayrides. It was fun, but my kids have no memories of that. One perk of the night was the coupon for the free train ride. Mackenzie would not go on it by herself so Jamie had to ride it with her, it was hilarious. Jamie was crying she was laughing so hard. They were VERY small train cars.
This picture cracked me up. Mackenzie looks like her head is in a guillotine. She wasn't sure what to think of this but when Kyle is next to her she will do anything. Kyle is definitely her favorite cousin right now. He can do no wrong and she laughs at everything he does. It is really cute. She is his biggest fan.
Luke's first Halloween. He is eight months old now and crawling all over the place. He still has no hair and people love to rub his head. Everywhere we go these little old ladies always want to rub his head it's cute and Luke doesn't mind the attention. He is such a fun little guy and has a really cute personality. We love having him in our family.
