Happy Father's Day!!!

Yesterday was such a wonderful Father's Day and I was reminded many times how blessed I am to have such extraordinary men in my life. I grew up with a dad who loved us, provided for us, and most of all taught us by example how to love and serve other people. He has so much passion for the gospel and that has stayed with me throughout my life.

I am blessed to be married to such an amazing man. Rob is an awesome husband and dad. My kids adore him and we appreciate everything he does to provide for us. He works so hard for us and he is always willing to serve and help whoever is in need. He has taught me a lot about service.

Lastly I am blessed with a wonderful father-in-law who has been such a blessing in our lives. He loves his grandchildren so much and he loves spending time with them, he is so easy going and willing to help whenever he can.

My future fashion designer????

We fed the missionaries and some friends last night for dinner and I told Kyle to go change out of his baseball uniform. This is what happens when you leave a 5 year old to his own devices. Good thing he's cute.

Happy Birthday Part 2 Angel's Landing

So for my birthday Rob and I and Dave and Jamie went for a quick weekend up to Zion's to hike Angel's Landing. I have heard so much about it and have wanted to do it for a long time. I think Zion is my new favorite place. It is so beautiful. The hike was so fun, and once I was at the top all those switchbacks were worth it:)

This is at the very beginning and the top of Angels Landing is right behind me.

This cluster of switchbacks were called "Walter's wiggles". This was a tough part of the hike and the whole time I am going up these I am reminding myself that it is fun, and that the hotel pool would not be more fun:)
I love seeing signs saying DANGER deaths do occur please watch your children or in my case my husband. You can see why I needed to keep an eye on him. He loved laying over the edge so I could get pictures of the bottom.

Robert and Matt had a lot of fun at the top, I just would have preferred it not be with 1200 foot drops all around us. CRAZY!!!
We made it!!!

These two did Mt. Whitney last summer, what's next? Maybe Grand Canyon next summer?

This last picture is a picture of the trail on the way to the top. For those of you who have not been there it is amazing. You actually climb up that ridge using chains. It is a little intense, so fun though. I really want to do it again when my kids are all old enough and Robert when I mean old enough I mean 16 not 10!!!!!

Happy Birthday Part 1

For my birthday this year, Rob decided to get train tickets and we took the kids down to Old Town to eat and play. The kids loved going down there and eating yummy food especially the churros from the side of the road.

After dinner we met a group of students visiting from Taiwan. They were so excited to talk to Rob in Mandarin. They also LOVED my little white bald baby. He wasn't quite sure what to think but he stayed quiet long enough for them to video him and take pictures.

At the train station heading home
The next day we did a digital camera adventure race at Rob's alma mater UCSD. It was basically a scavenger hunt. It was a lot of fun, the kids loved it. We had clues that took us to different land marks on the HUGE campus. We came in last place but we had fun.

As we were leaving Tanner had his first major wipeout ever on his skateboard. It was pretty gnarly. I don't think he has been back on his skateboard yet.
