Happy Father's Day!!!

Yesterday was such a wonderful Father's Day and I was reminded many times how blessed I am to have such extraordinary men in my life. I grew up with a dad who loved us, provided for us, and most of all taught us by example how to love and serve other people. He has so much passion for the gospel and that has stayed with me throughout my life.

I am blessed to be married to such an amazing man. Rob is an awesome husband and dad. My kids adore him and we appreciate everything he does to provide for us. He works so hard for us and he is always willing to serve and help whoever is in need. He has taught me a lot about service.

Lastly I am blessed with a wonderful father-in-law who has been such a blessing in our lives. He loves his grandchildren so much and he loves spending time with them, he is so easy going and willing to help whenever he can.

My future fashion designer????

We fed the missionaries and some friends last night for dinner and I told Kyle to go change out of his baseball uniform. This is what happens when you leave a 5 year old to his own devices. Good thing he's cute.

Happy Birthday Part 2 Angel's Landing

So for my birthday Rob and I and Dave and Jamie went for a quick weekend up to Zion's to hike Angel's Landing. I have heard so much about it and have wanted to do it for a long time. I think Zion is my new favorite place. It is so beautiful. The hike was so fun, and once I was at the top all those switchbacks were worth it:)

This is at the very beginning and the top of Angels Landing is right behind me.

This cluster of switchbacks were called "Walter's wiggles". This was a tough part of the hike and the whole time I am going up these I am reminding myself that it is fun, and that the hotel pool would not be more fun:)
I love seeing signs saying DANGER deaths do occur please watch your children or in my case my husband. You can see why I needed to keep an eye on him. He loved laying over the edge so I could get pictures of the bottom.

Robert and Matt had a lot of fun at the top, I just would have preferred it not be with 1200 foot drops all around us. CRAZY!!!
We made it!!!

These two did Mt. Whitney last summer, what's next? Maybe Grand Canyon next summer?

This last picture is a picture of the trail on the way to the top. For those of you who have not been there it is amazing. You actually climb up that ridge using chains. It is a little intense, so fun though. I really want to do it again when my kids are all old enough and Robert when I mean old enough I mean 16 not 10!!!!!

Happy Birthday Part 1

For my birthday this year, Rob decided to get train tickets and we took the kids down to Old Town to eat and play. The kids loved going down there and eating yummy food especially the churros from the side of the road.

After dinner we met a group of students visiting from Taiwan. They were so excited to talk to Rob in Mandarin. They also LOVED my little white bald baby. He wasn't quite sure what to think but he stayed quiet long enough for them to video him and take pictures.

At the train station heading home
The next day we did a digital camera adventure race at Rob's alma mater UCSD. It was basically a scavenger hunt. It was a lot of fun, the kids loved it. We had clues that took us to different land marks on the HUGE campus. We came in last place but we had fun.

As we were leaving Tanner had his first major wipeout ever on his skateboard. It was pretty gnarly. I don't think he has been back on his skateboard yet.

Las Vegas here we come!!!

Last weekend my parents took me and my sister and my three sister in laws on a long weekend to Las Vegas. We had so much fun. The night before we left Rob and I, my parents, Jamie and Dave, and some good friends from our ward, Natalie and Jason went to see the comedian Brian Regan. For those of you who don't know who he is you need to rent something or listen to him on itunes. He is hilarious. The good thing about him is that he is clean. We had a great night.
We headed off the next morning to Vegas where we enjoyed eating a lot, sleeping in, talking a lot, swimming, shopping and just hanging out. It was so nice to spend time with the sister in laws. We don't get to see them that much so we had a great time. Thank you mom and dad for a great weekend. We can't wait for next year:) Also I have to give a shout out to my in laws Roy and Evelyn for watching my kids for the weekend. Robert was in NYC for work so they stepped in to help out. They even took them to Knotts one day. They love spending time with you!!!

This was our first attempt at Bingo in Vegas. We actually had no idea what we were doing. It is more complicated than you may think. Aimee actually ended up winning $43.00. Pretty exciting.
Nielsens frozen custard YUMMY!!!!
The obligatory trip to the strip, with a yummy stop at the Paris for some good crepes!!
An afternoon at the spa.

Aimee and I snuck out for a late night session of Bingo. We just knew that we were going to win this time. Wrong!!! Maybe next year, it was fun anyway.
Shana really hoping for a win!!! Maybe next year!!

Father Son Campout

On Mother's Day weekend Rob and the boys went on their annual Father Son Campout and they had a great time. So Bekah and I enjoyed a night of shopping. I even told her she could pick anywhere she wanted to go for dinner and she said she would rather go pick a box of cereal to eat for dinner. I love that girl!!! Then in the morning we went to McDonalds and got our nails done. We had a great time while they enjoyed playing with friends and the campfire and of course S'mores. They loved sleeping in the tent.

This is Luke's head after falling against a tree. I teased Rob that a father's supervision is very different than a mom's supervision, but at least they all came back in one piece right?

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day this year. I had breakfast in bed for the first time ever, even though I had to send out a strong hint, it still was great. Rob fixed me one of his famous egg sandwiches which I love with yummy hot cocoa that the kids made. Then they gave me their cards they made me. After church we headed to my mom's where Rob's parents and Jamie and her family came. It is nice to have both parents so close so we can celebrate it together. We had yummy food and good visiting. As I was at my parents last night I realized how blessed I am to have a mom like I do. She has taught me so much throughout my life and has been such an example of love and compassion. I am also blessed to have such an awesome mother-in-law. A lot of people can't say that but I love her so much. She is one of my closest friends and Rob and I feel so blessed to have our families so close and even better we all get along.

This is me and Bekah at the 2nd grade Mother's Day tea party where they sang to us. It took a lot of convincing to let Bekah know that we didn't have to drink the tea and it was ok to have water. She was very worried.

This is Tanner's card he made for me at school. If you notice the last line he says I love him like a pet. What is funny is that he knows that I don't really like pets, even though we have one. Is he trying to tell me something? Cute!!

I had to throw this picture in of my mother in law. They left last night before I got a picture. This is the night they got their mission call. They are great examples of service to us.
